Some years ago, Dr.Thompson was asked a personal favor by an inmate whom she was visiting and to whom she had been writing. He wanted to convey to this daughter how much he loved her. Though rejected and isolated from the family, he simply wanted to make sure she received this gift from her daddy. So it was at this time the toy give-away was birthed.
Subsequently, we became acutely aware of the many families in our program who were struggling financially, unable to give the joy of Christmas to their children. So with that we rolled up our sleeves and began the rally of toy donations in an effort to share the Christmas joy by giving away toys.
